Harissa is a quintessential North African condiment – a paste or sauce produced from chili peppers, oil, and spices. Originally from Tunisia, it has since spread to other parts of North Africa and been adapted to suit local tastes.
Our Harissa is a Moroccan-style Harissa which is less chile-forward and features a melange of layered flavors from spices, fresh mint, tomato paste and preserved lemons. While many Harissas on the market are made with vegetable oil, lots of salt and water, Harissa N ̊1 is made with the finest quality ingredients containing about a quarter of a preserved lemon per jar and high quality Organic Moroccan olive oil which give it its rustic style and unique texture, making it different from any other Harissa out on the market.
